we're having a sort of contest to name the kid. below are the "rules" which are really more guidelines. amy, of course, will be the final judge. possible prizes include the kids middle name being your first name. but only if it flows :) i told you it was only "sort" of a contest. we're looking for a girl and a boys name. last name will be powers. if you think the last name should be reese, please submit an essay saying, in 500 words or less, why you think our kid should be reese. good luck.
1. no names in the top 10 most popular names, so aiden, liam, madison, clea, and liz are out.
2. no names in the top 10 most popular names in any foreign country, so hamish, marco, fabio, margarita and irina are out. fabio was already out (see rule 3)
3. no names of recognizable famous people, so no shakira or harrison or big boi or alaya.
4. no names of friends, so no bianca, or noah or budde.
5. no biblical names, unless they are super obscure, and definitely old testament only. like lazerus but not lazerus. if this makes it too confusing you can stick to the first clause of the preceding sentence.
6. no names that form a sentence with the word powers, so no unilateral powers, or exectutive powers, separation of powers, church powers, magical powers, ect. max powers is still in play.
7. this goes without saying, but not austin or danger.
8. no names that start with a "p" or a "t", we don't want pp or tp as initials. hey! take it up with amy.
9. names must pass the substitute teacher test. can a sub read and properly pronounce the name without ever having heard it? if you feel your name should be considered despite breaking this rule, then you can petition for an exemption. 100 words or less.
10. boy or girl names that sound like a super hero, detective, or test pilot will be given preference :)
11. names that sound like porn stars, if only accidental, will be handled on a case by case basis since we realize these might be hard to aviod with a last name like powers :)
12. no names that are secretly someones else's "saved" name for their potential future baby.

Dude... Dork(s)!! Too many rules! I thought you all ready had ghangus picked out...so much so that I can't even spell it!
Eddie thinks Max for sure! That is why I could not use it so that we could save it for you... The other thoughts, well, I wasn't prepared and have to make this a deep thought. I will let you know!
