curtis's boston vacation

so curtis and i talked some months ago about his coming out to visit en route to his friend's cabin in upstate new york. i thought it was a brilliant idea and couldn't wait for his trip! however, as events unfolded, after he bought his ticket, including me telling everyone about genghis and our ensuing drama with our landlord, the poor kid's trip turned out to be just in time for our cambridge move.



he handled it like a pro! (see pics below). we had a great time hanging out all weekend, seeing a few sites and of course playing games. now i've had two siblings visit and both have very different experiences in sightseeing and in housing - we had the futon ready, right next to a HUGE pile of boxes for him to sleep by all weekend!


curtis stretched out while lee and i were chatting with chris and anna / curtis curling up / oh yeah now it's comfortable / look at me, look at me!



i think one of my favorite things about curt coming out was just getting to spend time together, and also having lunch with him on the one day i had to work while he was visiting.

also! we got to see one of the top 10 fireworks shows in the country - the boston pops extravaganza of course! it was a lot of fun, and to avoid the 't' rush at the end we walked a little over two miles after the show to catch a bus instead of waiting in line for the subway. curtis was a real trooper in his exhaustion and flip flops! that's a lot of walking :)




firework pictures never come out - but it was a really good show and a great visit!
