we cannot wait to get out to salt lake city - even if it's only for a few days over the holiday. one of the reasons i am excited to come out is that i will get to hear lots of advice on all things parenting from my seasoned grandmothers, aunts, uncles and cousins.
to give you topic ideas for the shower... ;) we are really in need of advice on things like baby bottles - which is the best to avoid/reduce gas and air bubbles, etc.?

also, after the first month we are planning to use cloth diapers. thoughts? this is in large part due to my aunt M.L., who diapered most if not all four of her kids this way. while i do remember hating changing them, i'm pretty sure that this was because i was 13 and hated anything smelly and sticky, and not so much to do with the cloth.
we know that this is somewhat of an environmental wash because of the amount of water used to clean them, but we will at least hope to contribute less to our local landfill!

I used cloth diapers for all of you. Of course back then, we were told that disposables wouldn't last! Your baby clothes won't fit in small sizes...the "bottom" will be huge.
Break down and use throw aways!
I used cloth for Elizabeth after Melissa was born. That lasted about a week during which she had non-stop diaper rash. Definitely a vote for disposable from our house, in addition to the lack of continuous odor, bleach, and addtional laundry loads...
by the way, there is no moment quite like the one when the baby appears and the doctor says "it's a ...(girl/boy). It's truly awesome in the best sense of the word. Becky
